Le Conseil culturel fransaskois (CCF), anciennement la Commission culturelle fransaskoise, a été créé en 1974. À cette époque, l’activité artistique et culturelle francophone en Saskatchewan se limitait à la présentation de concerts locaux, généralement organisés par des groupes scolaires ou des cercles locaux. En 1983, la Commission culturelle fransaskoise est mandatée par le Bureau de la minorité de langue officielle du ministère de l’Education de la Saskatchewan pour offrir une programmation culturelle aux écoles désignées de la province. Depuis, des tournées d’artistes pour les écoles ainsi que d’autres programmes culturels sont mis sur pied chaque année pour aider à l’intégration culturelle en milieu scolaire. Entre 1982 et 1986, la Commission culturelle fransaskoise réussit à décrocher plusieurs projets d’artiste en résidence pour diverses communautés. Depuis 1996, le Conseil est responsable du Coup de coeur francophone en Saskatchewan, une promotion de la chanson de langue française. Il a également repris la plupart des dossiers de la défunte Association des artistes de la Saskatchewan, tels le Gala fransaskois de la chanson, la formation InPAC et le développement artistique. Aujourd’hui, le Conseil culturel fransaskois intervient dans les domaines du développement culturel et artistique, c’est-à-dire dans les domaines de la formation et de la promotion culturelles ainsi que de la diffusion de la culture fransaskoise et a toujours le mandat de voir à l’intégration culturelle auprès des écoles fransaskoises et d’immersion de la province. The French Cultural Council (CCF) of Saskatchewan, formerly the Franco-Saskatchewanian Cultural Commission, was created in 1974. At the time, French-language artistic and cultural activities in Saskatchewan were limited to the performance of local concerts, generally organized by school groups or local clubs. In 1983, the Franco-Saskatchewanian Cultural Commission was charged by the Official Minority Language Office of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education to organize performances at certain schools within the province. Since then, school tours by artists as well as other cultural events have been set up every year to help incorporate culture into the educational environment. Between 1982 and 1986, the Franco-Saskatchewanian Cultural Commission launched several artist-in-residence programs for various communities. Since 1996, the Council has managed Coup de coeur francophone’s activities in Saskatchewan, promoting French-language music. The Council has also taken over many activities formerly run by the now-defunct Saskatchewan Artists’ Association, including the Franco-Saskatchewanian Gala of Song, the InPAC workshops, and artistic development. Today, the French Cultural Council takes part in the fields of artistic and cultural development, in particular cultural education and promotion, as well as spreading awareness of Franco-Saskatchewanian culture. Its goal is still to oversee the incorporation of culture into Franco-Saskatchewanian schools and the enrichment of the province.
